Brabham will be aboard the #58 Murphy Racing Mercedes-AMG partnering Jed Murphy.
The substitution bumps the car up into the Silver Cup, with Jed and his father Gerry generally competing in Silver-Am competition.
It was confirmed via social media that an incident in Practice 1 on Friday saw Murphy senior forced to withdraw, with race engineer and driver coach Brabham stepping in.
Such was the last-minute nature of the driver swap, that Brabham contested Practice 2 on Friday evening wearing a spare suit from fellow GT4 racer Zac Soutar.
“Had a very unexpected call-up today! After a crash this morning Gerry has pulled out of the weekend and I’ll be a replacement!” Brabham said via social media.
“They say always bring your kit but it’s the one weekend I didn’t.

Brabham is the son of 1997 Super Touring Bathurst 1000 winner David, and grandson of three-time F1 world champion Sir Jack.
The third generation driver has dabbled in GT4 Australia previously, teaming up with Antonio Astuti at Love Racing in 2024.
Brabham also contested the GT4 class in the 2022 season of GT World Challenge Australia, finishing second in the class standings.
Monochrome GT4 Australia will hit the track today for qualifying at 10:10am ACST ahead of the first one-hour race of the weekend 1:10pm, all aired live on Fox Sports and Kayo.
